This is a tutorial I made because of numerous comments on the "learning curve" of the pen tool.
There probably is a couple spelling errors, but other than that, I hope you learn something from this.
the pen tool is THE most powerful tool in photoshop. However, you do not go into full detail on how to use it. You briefly describe how to make two points and a curve, but then you go on to show examples of where it can be used.
Maybe a "vectoring with the pen tool" tutorial, or an "abstract lines with the pen tool" tutorial would be more appropriate. Good luck and welcome to the site!
What I mean to say is... someone new to photoshop will not quite understand this. Its best to teach through showing, thats why an "abstract lines with the pen tool" would be better to show exactly how its used.
for example, starting with paths and creating a new path rather then just selecting the pen tool while layers are active and creating a solid shape in the color of the foreground. Dealing with complex curves tends to be easier using paths or low opacity layers. That wasn't covered in this.
In all honesty, while this tutorial is great, the only real advice the pen tool needs is to practice. And then practice. And when you're done practicing, practice more.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
